The client company produces automatic packaging machines.
In late 2020, the company received 5 orders, i.e. 5 machines to be produced and completed by the end of the year, each containing 12 brackets. These components each had slightly different characteristics. It was therefore necessary to find a solution that would allow them to be customized for use.
The company began to contemplate the idea of producing them through FDM 3D printing by leaning on Mark One. However, they wanted to understand whether it would be worthwhile in the medium to long term to produce the components in service as opposed to buying the 3D printer.
The case study will provide the answer.
