Governance – Mark One’s new leadership. Mark One presents three new members of his Advisory Council.
Since its founding in 2016, Mark One has matured by facing challenges and achieving various goals. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that the company’s Advisory Board is expanding. We are happy to welcome three figures who have played a key role in the growth of the company: Alberto Elli, Mattia Ruggeri and Laura Amadesi.
Alberto is an experienced business executive with over 35 years of experience. He has held CEO, COO and CFO roles both at large public-listed companies (SGP-Merck and Sherwin-Williams) and at mid-sized companies, such as Geneva Watch, D+M Sound, Aquaro Histology and QAMF.
After completing his degree in Business Economics at Bocconi University in Milan in 1985, Alberto began to build his career up to Finance Director for the Italian subsidiary of a Swedish multinational paper and packaging company. In 2000, he moved to the USA as the Vice President (VP) of Finance Healthcare for SGP, and in 2007 he was appointed VP of Finance and Global Finishes for Sherwin-Williams. He managed a $3B group and led teams that acquired more than 20 companies. Starting in 2013, Alberto moved into managing private companies. He became the CEO of Aquaro (a medical device startup that raised $10M) and COO and President of QAMF (a worldwide leader in bowling equipment). For the past two years, he has been the Senior Director of Finance and Merger and Acquisition (M&A) at TadaNow, an innovative platform that connects data and optimizes complex supply chains.
Alberto is well-versed in all financial fields, with particular experience in M&A. He has been exposed to global business for more than 20 years, travelling extensively all over the world. Alberto has demonstrated his ability to build many diverse and high performing teams. From a general manager’s perspective, Alberto has kept his companies’ customer focused but never neglecting back-office efficiency, cost effectiveness and strong cash-flow generation.
“Helping scale businesses is my passion. Shortly after I met Marco, I become passionate about his projects to change the manufacturing world with an innovative approach. We are at a historical junction where supply chains are not only crucial to businesses but can revolutionize business practices (fast-evolving from Manufacturing 4.0 to 5.0). The opportunity to build a fast-growing business, internationalize an Italian company and creating a strong, diverse and motivated Team is great and incredibly motivating.”
Member of the Board of Directors
Mattia is an experienced international credit manager. He is sales oriented, able to think outside the box, and has always been able to find strategic ways to problem solve.
Mattia has over 16 years of experience in multinational companies, such as QubicaAMF. His time spent working in various international environments has taught him how to best practice workplace inclusivity and to address issues and cultural differences. Mattia’s many trips around the world, his year spent abroad in the U.S., and his experience as a Trade Marketer at Dolce & Gabbana, demonstrate his extensive qualifications and professional training. Mattia holds a degree in Law and Economics from Bocconi University.
“I fell in love with Mark One from the moment I first met Marco and his team ─ we “clicked”. From that moment on, I have been helping Marco turn his dream into a reality!”
Following the completion of her degree in electronic engineering (1994) and a Master of Business Management (1996) from Bologna Business School (formerly Profingest), Laura embarked on a highly successful managerial career.
At the beginning of the 2000s, Laura became the Marketing, Sales and Development Director of FMR Art’è. She then became the Chief Executive Officer of the company’s Spanish subsidiary. Laura’s experience as a freelance consultant provided her with the skills and know-how needed to found MeA Consulting in 2006, which is now part of the BIP Group.
Laura has also worked in the academic sphere as a professor at the University of Bologna and Bologna Business School. In 2012 she was appointed as a board member at several companies, namely D-Orbit, Interporto di Bologna and the TBS group, thanks to her comprehensive experience in the field of strategic consultancy.
“When I got to know Mark One and discovered the company’s vision, I immediately realized that the team was truly trying to achieve a new manufacturing revolution. I constantly strive to develop a business strategy that makes Mark One’s potential shine for this reason”.
